Orlando Attractions- Opening and Closing

February, 3 2017

Orlando’s theme parks have always done a great job keeping their attractions current! “Out with the old and in with the new” seems to be the way to go, but with so many changes happening, it can be hard to keep track of them all. Here are a few of the most recently announced changes at your favorite Orlando theme parks and attractions:

Disney Quest - Orlando Attractions

DisneyQuest: The Disney Springs attraction is set to permanently close on July 3, 2017, to make way for the new The NBA Experience at Walt Disney World® Resort. So, if you are a fan of classic arcade games and virtual worlds, you may want to schedule a visit to enjoy DisneyQuest one last time before it is forever gone. The new basketball-themed experience will feature hands-on activities that put guests of all age’s right in the middle of NBA game action. There will be immersive NBA video productions and numerous interactive experiences, as well as a restaurant and a retail store. The brand-new attraction sounds super exciting and we are looking forward to its debut, so mark your calendars.  If you are looking for accommodations, the Hawthorn Suites Lake Buena Vista is located right by Disney Springs and offers amazing rates for spacious suites that include hot breakfast, transportation to Disney Parks and many other amenities.

Paddlefish: Also at Disney Springs, The new Paddlefish restaurant is set to open on Feb 4. 2017. The former Fulton’s Crab House was a true icon at Disney Springs, so we are glad to share that the Paddlefish menu includes a few of the favorite dishes from Fulton’s Crab House.  The iconic paddleboat at Disney Springs has been reimagined into a modern yacht experience after it underwent a multimillion-dollar transformation! Paddlefish will showcase a seafood-centric menu, featuring delectable Maine lobster, King and Snow crabs and a selection of fresh fish including sea bass, catfish and salmon. Cocktails are inspired by classic turn-of-the-century American cocktails, and an expansive wine list includes both Old and New World wines. The restaurant will be open daily for lunch and dinner, as well as Sunday brunch.

Volcano Bay: You have probably already heard that the classic water park Wet ‘n Wild has shut down its doors at the end of 2016. But there is nothing to be sad about! A brand-new and improved water park is already set to open on May 25, 2015. Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay promises innovative technology to ensure that queues are basically non-existent and just by looking at the construction site, we can guarantee the rides will be super fun and exciting!
