NEW at Universal Studios Orlando
March 3, 2017
When cult favorite Twister was torn down at Universal Studios to make way for a new ride, many guests were anxious to find out what Universal had in mind to substitute such an iconic ride. Twister has always divided opinions with people saying “I can see the cables on the flying cow” or “It looks so real, especially when it catches on fire.”
Well, fast-forward to 2017 and Twister is now forever gone. But what should we expect from the new Jimmy Fallon ride that is taking its place?
The name of the new ride is Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon. The attraction will be themed around the Tonight Show and will send guests on a simulated trek through New York City. This is so fitting, because the area where the attraction will be located at is the New York area at Universal Studios. The park is divided into a few different areas:
- Production Central
- New York
- San Francisco
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
- World Expo
- Woody Woodpecker’s Kidzone
- Hollywood
But the New York area had really lost a bit of their New York appeal after the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit was built. That is because some of the roller coaster’s track covered up the background of the New York Public Library that used to be such a cool picture spot. But now with Jimmy Fallon’s ride, New York will finally get their theme back!
Here’s a sneak peek at the new ride:
If you are excited to enjoy this new ride, mark your calendars for April 6 when the ride is supposed to debut to the public. The soft opening happened last week, so Universal employees have already had the chance to give it a go and provide their feedback on what needs to be improved! That means that by April 6 the ride should be completely ready to host all Universal guests! If you don’t want to miss this exciting chance to ride it first, make sure to buy your tickets and reserve your hotel stay with us at the Hawthorn Suites Lake Buena Vista in advance! We hope to see you next month for a great Orlando/ New York trip of a lifetime!
