Top Restaurant Picks in Lake Buena Vista
March 6, 2015
We are conveniently located by so many amazing restaurants that picking one might be a tricky task! Lucky for you, we narrowed down our favorite spots to make your decision making fast and flawless!
- Rainforest Cafe® at Disney Springs
The whole atmosphere and decorations in this place is just exotic and amazing! You will truly feel like you are surrounded by a tropical rainforest. Make sure to look for the erupting volcano!
Your party of explorers will dine deep into the Amazon in the company of animated animals to the sounds of thunder claps and sudden rainstorms. Singing birds, trumpeting elephants, chest-pounding gorillas and schools of brightly colored fish welcome you to the jungle, lushly landscaped with tropical vegetation, banyan trees, waterfalls and a starry nighttime sky.
They have a great variety of delicious food, desserts and drinks that can be served in a souvenir glass!
The place is usually pretty busy, so reservations are recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit. If you decide to walk in you can end up with a two-hour wait, but some people are fine with that since they can just stroll around Disney Springs while they wait. Just make sure you go before you are already starving.
- T-REX ™ at Disney Springs
This is another theme restaurant that is super fun and creative! You get to take cool pictures with squawking pterosaurs, wooly mammoths, a massive undulating octopus and life-sized animatronic dinosaurs—including a 15-foot-tall T. Rex. With themed rooms depicting diverse primordial landscapes from a color-changing ice cavern to a fern forest buzzing with giant wasps, you can spend ages wandering from area to area.
Dine on family-friendly American favorites beneath luminescent jellyfish or in a very unique section: the midsection of a triceratops! And every 20 minutes or so, witness a meteor shower complete with rumbling and fiery “explosions.”
Their menu ranges from salads to steaks and the portions are really well served! If you’re on a healthy kick, make sure to try their Paleo Pizza, and if you’re on “vacation mode” share the Artifact Stack, a tower of crispy onion rings and try the Gigantosaurus Burger!
Reservation is also required and can be made up to 180 days in advance!
- Fulton’s Crab House at Disney Springs
The restaurant is an authentic replica of a turn-of-the-20th-century riverboat offers over 50 types of fresh seafood flown in daily, plus the choicest cuts of beef. The “boat” is docked on the wharf at Disney Springs and it’s a great spot for pictures!
The award-winning chefs change the menu each day to reflect the best offerings on the world market, which may include Alaska snow crab, Maine lobster and Pacific Rim blue crab cakes—as well as filet mignon and baby back ribs.
You can also experience the best of both worlds with such surf-and-turf options as the New York strip steak paired with a cold water lobster tail, if you feel like splurging a little!
You can dine outside on one of the decks, but we’d suggest going inside where you’ll eat among displaying trophies, constellations, maps and other nautical artifacts and folk art.
- Planet Hollywood® at Disney Springs
Planet Hollywood is just a classic! Food is delicious, although not as gourmet as the other restaurants mentioned above. It is also located at Disney Springs and has a Hollywood movie theme inside! The memorabilia is awesome to admire and the music selection is always on point! The World Famous Chicken Crunch would be our suggestion of food, and as a second option, the L.A. Lasagna will knock your socks off!
- Sweet Tomatoes
This last option may seem completely off compared to the other suggestion on this post, but, although a chain, this restaurant is not available in more than 30 states so we feel the urge of sharing this gem with you. The restaurant is mainly a salad and soup bar, but it is AMAZING! You serve your own salad and can pick from a variety of over 50 ingredients, including specialty tossed and prepared salads, or greens, veggies, fruits, dressings and croutons. This is real food at its best and everything tastes absolutely fresh!
And if salad doesn’t float your boat, hot pastas, hand-crafted soups, scratch-made muffins, and Focaccia breads are also available! Dessert is also included and they have fruit, an ice cream machine, brownies and toppings like Oreo cookie crumbles, peanuts, sprinkles, syrup and more!
We hope you enjoy your Orlando stay and come back to visit us soon!
