Gardens & Parks

Orlando is known for its world-renowned theme parks. That is certainly the main reason tourists visit us from all over the world every year. But what some people forget is that we also have plenty of amazing natural parks in Orlando and you should definitely make some time to visit a couple of them during your vacation with us. A great balanced vacation is made of exciting adventures and relaxing moments, as well. Getting in touch with nature and spending a day strolling around a natural park and appreciating the luscious Florida landscape can really help you let go of stress and fully relax during your Orlando vacation.

Spending quality time with the family is always a must during vacation and visiting these natural parks can help you do just that as you get together for a picnic, a family exercise session outdoors or a simple stroll to explore all theses parks have to offer. Here are a couple of our favorite parks here in Orlando:

Harry P. Leu Gardens

Guests get to explore 50-acres of a botanical oasis. The gardens are self-guided and you can pick up a Guest Guide and Map at the Garden House Welcome Center. If you have a professional camera, make sure to bring it with you to register your trip. The gardens are absolutely beautiful, especially when blooming is in full force during the spring season.

Visit the park at:
1920 N Forest Ave.
Orlando, Florida 32803

Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake

This large park covers 183 acres and is one of the top-five rated fishing lakes in the state of Florida. The park is perfect for nature lovers and it is located just minutes away from some of Orlando’s best attractions. There are picnic/barbecue pavilions that are available for rent, a pool open for the public, a beautiful lake that often hosts rowing competitions and even a small animal farm. The little farm has horses, chickens, ducks, goats and other animals that are a huge hit with the kids!

Visit the park at:
2401 South Hiawassee Rd.
Orlando, Florida 32835

This was our 2nd stay in this hotel. The first was in 2009. Both times the Hawthorn Suites has been immaculate, the suites are lovely, really big.
